going to the mountain top

I took this picture from the top of one mountain....realizing I had to get to the other mountain. Which meant I had to go down and them climb UP the other one to get to the Village/community of El Vinado.......I must say a little fear gripped me at that moment....BUT......

they use this stone to grind their corn...just thought I would give it a try

Below are some of the children who live in El Vinado (SP)...the were filled excitement....one day as I was sitting and talking with the kids they began to feel my hair and touch my skin....I asked them had they a black person before....They said no( they had seen whites before) and then I asked if they knew there people like me in the world...they said no...there was one older girl that said she thinks she saw a black person in a book one time......What an opportunity it was to share about God's creation and the many races/faces of people in world...what a pleasure it was for share the God's love with them.....

The day we arrived lots of children came out to met us...

This is a family's house...just sticks...not much protection from the wind,rain and cold

This is how most people here in the mountains cook here....this is inside a little stick house....

This was taken on the day we were leaving...we were able to touch so many lives....the kids were great..there were nights we would have to make the children go home...because we were ready to go to bed...

walking out was just as hard as waling into the village/community

As I said before it was one of the hardest things I have ever done but I must say it was the soooo rewarding

REUNION

The community I work with on a weekly bases had their 13 year anniversary on March 18th and I was very happy to be a part of such a great experiance...when the Pastor asked if I could come I of course said yes..... I was thankful to have the opportuniy to share with the people....Rhonda and TR, other missionaries to Honduras, have a movie ministry so they came and showed some movies, Mireya, Rhonda and I cooked lots of food to share with everyone...we

Church Anniversary

The church was full, the whole community came out to help in the celebration

In my office????

So many of you have asked about the clinic, This is my office/clinic. This is the church in Santa Cruz (Neuvo Pacto) I carry all the medication, supplies, tables ect with me. I even take clean water to mix the meds...

Each week I see about 50 people from this communty.....I supply Vitamins and Parasite medicines to each family on a continous need basis. Health teacings is a constant part of the clinic...

I have partered with Kids Aganist Hunger to help fight hunger....here we are giving Elia some of the food as well as a pot to cook it in. many of the people do not have a large pot to cook in, so we provide the pots...

I am standing in front of this church, where I was asked to come with my friends and fellow missionaries T.R. and Rhonda Sweeney, to have a medical brigade...we enjoyed the church service and then were able to see almost 100 people.....

Medical help

The slides below wil hopefuly give you a glimpse of the many people and places we were able visit durning the week of the Medical Brigade...There were 23 Doctors, Nurses, Physical therapist,Dentists, cooks and pharmacy helpers that gave their time to come to Honduras and serve....What a joy and blessing they were...................THANK YOU TEAM....You helped so many...
